Children’s Music and Artistic Craftsmanship School named after Artoghrul Javid in Nakhchivan city is one of the schools that gained rich experience, achieved great success during the period of its operation. It began to operate in 1990 as children’s music school named after Bulbul. In 2002, on the basis of the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the school was named after Artoghrul Javid who had services in the development of literary and artistic, music and painting art, to collect and investigate the Azerbaijani folk songs and folklore.

A new building was constructed for this educational institution and put into operation on January 24, 2013. The head of the school, the Honored artist of Nakhchivan Autonomous Abulfat Babayev recalled the remarks of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis during the meeting with the teachers at the opening ceremony and he said that the tasks and recommendations of the autonomous republic leader have became the working principle of the pedagogical collective: “Azerbaijan’s national music is a rich treasure. To protect this treasure for coming generations is one of the main tasks. At present, the students studying at the children’s music schools of Nakhchivan are the future supporters to preserve and develop our national music. Therefore, students should be taught high education in music field, Azerbaijan folk music should be taught at a highest level, special attention should be paid to reveal and develop their talent”.

An event dedicated to the 94th anniversary of the establishment of the autonomous republic

On February 7, an event was held on the occasion of the 94^th anniversary of the autonomous republic with the participation of the students of the secondary schools No. 4, 11, 15, 16 and the secondary school named after Heydar Aliyev.

The head of the library Kamaladdin Akhundov opened the event and mentioned that Nakhchivan's autonomy emerged as a result of socio-political events in the territory in the 20s of the XX century. Giving the status of autonomy to the ancient land came from the necessary historical, political and geographical factors. Nakhchivan's autonomy has created a legal and political basis for its survival and development in Azerbaijan. As a result of the stubborn struggle of the people and intellectuals of Nakhchivan, Moscow and Kars treaties were signed in 1921 determining the status of an autonomous republic of Nakhchivan within our republic. International Moscow and Kars treaties are crucial in securing the inviolability of Nakhchivan's territory. On the basis of these documents, together with the establishment of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on February 9, 1924, security and further development of the ancient land were ensured.

Master classes continue

By the organization of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the master class was conducted for the teachers and students who study or teach painting at the Nakhchivan city Children’s Music, Art and Crafts school named after A.Cavid on February 6.

Before the master class, Leyla Alimardanova, Head of the sector of music development and work with educational institutions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, stated that Nakhchivan was declared the capital of Islamic culture for 2018 at the VI Conference of Ministers of Culture of Islamic Countries held in Baku on October 14, 2009. On this occasion, the ministry and cultural institutions will hold a number of events. Today's master class is also held under the motto "Nakhchivan - The Capital of Islamic Culture - 2018".

The next “Fairy-tale day”

The next fairy-tale organized by Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Children’s Library named after Adil Babayev was held at the secondary school number 3 in Nakhchivan city on February 6.

The first grade students participated in the fairy-tale day. After telling “Butterfly” Azerbaijani fairy-tale, the librarians conducted a discussion and quiz about the fairy-tale.

After the discussion “The fox is going to pilgrimage” animated picture was demonstrated.

At the end the students viewed the exhibition “World of Children”.

The symbolic key of the Youth Capital was presented to Nakhchivan

On February 2, a solemn ceremony was held at the Buta Palace on the occasion of Azerbaijan Youth Day.

Naxcivantv.az reports that Nakhchivan was declared the “Youth Capital” of Azerbaijan for 2018 at the ceremony. It was noted that Nakhchivan became the winner of online voting on www.genclerpaytaxti.

The minister of youth and sports Azad Rahimov presented the symbolic key of the youth capital to the minister of youth and sports of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Azad Jabbarov.

Speaking at the event, the minister of youth and sports of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Azad Jabbarov spoke about the measures carried out in the youth field in the autonomous republic and state policy in this direction. The minister of youth and sports stated that Nakhchivan which is the capital of Islamic culture this year will fulfill its mission properly as the youth capital of Azerbaijan.

During the event a video clip featuring Nakhchivan's magnificent view prepared by Nakhchivan TV was presented.
