Opening the event, department head of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Akbar Novruzov said that Azerbaijani cuisine is an important part of our national culture. Our national cuisine culture has historically extensively spread from geographically, covering areas inhabited by Azerbaijanis from ancient times. As in every region of our country, Nakhchivan also has its own culinary culture, which is unique to delicious meals.The table culture has always been maintained at the highest level, as a symbol of blessing there was a great respect for the table, aesthetics and ethics of tableware were made with great accuracy. This rich view of Nakhchivan cuisine also provides a good basis for the development of culinary tourism in the autonomous republic.
It was stressed that promotion of national cuisine in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is in the center of attention. In 2009, The Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on the establishment of Nakhchivan Culinary Center in Nakhchivan for the first time among the regions of Azerbaijan is a clear expression of that.
In Ajami space in Nakhchivan city, the master class was held with the participation of teachers teaching at the children’s art and artistic schools and students trained at painting profession.
Before the class collaborator of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Leyla Alimardanova said that the master class is dedicated to the nature painting, which is part of the art of painting for teachers teaching art in the children’s art and arts crafts schools and students studying on that specialty.
On October 18, at Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after M.S.Ordubadi, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after M.Ordubadi with the Institute of Art, Language and Literature of Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS the scientific conference related to the work by Yusif Balasagunlu “Kutadgu Bilig”, the first literary work of Turkish-Islamicliterature, was held.

On October 18, on the day of State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan marked the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the first national military unit in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov and Defense Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov attended the event.

Norwegian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bard Ivar Svendsen visited Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on October 16-17. During the visit, the guest got acquainted with the historical monuments of the autonomous republic, educational, cultural and production facilities.
The diplomat laid flowers at the monument to the founder and architect of the independent state of Azerbaijan, a prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev in the main square of Nakhchivan and commemorated the memory of the great leader.
Bard Ivar Svendsen visited the Museum of Heydar Aliyev and viewed the exhibits reflecting the life of Heydar Aliyev and the multifaceted statehood activity. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Azerbaijan visited Nakhchivan State University.
After the acquaintance with the University, Ambassador Bard Ivar Svendsen met with the students of International Relations and Foreign Languages and read a lecture on Azerbaijan-Norway relations.
The ambassador noted that the basis of cooperation between the two countries was laid by the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, spoke about the work done in the field of bilateral relations in the past and informed about the research of Norwegian scientist Tur Heyerdal about Gobustan rock paintings and he shared the scientist’s views on the fact that Azerbaijan is the center of human civilization. The questions of the students were answered and future cooperation between the universities was discussed.
