“Museums are one of the most important places in terms of protection and promotion of history, national-moral values of our people. Therefore, the guide of the museum should always develop himself and be able to answer questions completely”.
These ideas were mentioned at the trainings for museum guides held at History and Ethnography Museum of Babek Region and Memorial Museum of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh in Nehram Village on October 25 organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Speaking about the purpose and significance of the event, the chief adviser of the Ministry’s cultural heritage and museum affairs Gumral Mamiyeva made a speech on the topic “The behavior rules of museum guides” and said that museums of various profile are operating in the autonomous republic. The museums are given special attention today, their material-technical base is strengthened, level of professionalism of the employees is increased. After the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated December 19, 2014, “On Strengthening the Relations with Museums”, a significant increase in the number of visitors to museums is observed. This, in turn, requires more active and more responsive work of museum staff, museum guides. The main purpose of the today’s seminar is to provide methodological assistance to increase the professionalism of museum guides.

On this occasion, the literary and artistic event was held at the Pensioners’ Club No.2 in Nakhchivan, organized by the Nakhchivan City Centralized Library System named after Imran Gasimov.
Opening the event director of the Centralized Library System Sadagat Asgarova said that Javid is one of the great poets who played an unprecedented role in the development of the XX century Azerbaijani literature. Husein Javid’s creativity, which derives his own source from the deepest levels of national culture, is closely linked to the aesthetic ideas of the East and the traditions of the world’s romanticism. H.Cavid has gone through an exemplary way of life that demonstrates the integrity of his writer’s identity.
At the event, the collaborator of the Centralized Library System Pirgulu Mammadov made a speech about life and creativity of Husein Javid, and Shahla Usifova about Huseyn Javid’s “Sheikh Sanan” drama. It was noted that the XX century is the beginning of a new era in the history of Azerbaijani literature. During this period, as in the social life of Azerbaijan, great changes were made in literary criticism, poets and writers were engaged in artistic creativity, and one of them was Husein Javid, the most productive representative of Azerbaijani romanticism.
At first, participants of the event visited Husein Javid’s mausoleum in the center of the city and visited the house-museum of the great poet in Nakhchivan.
Opening the ceremony held at Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theater named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Natavan Gadimova said that 135 years have passed since the birth of poet-playwright Husein Javid, one of the prominent representatives of Azerbaijani literature, distinguished for his originality both in poetry and dramaturgy. Husein Javid was sentenced to eight years in prison in June 1937 under the pretext of his participation in the “secret nationalistic counter-revolutionary organization”. Since then, it was forbidden to publish and stage all of his works.
With the support of great leader Heydar Aliyev, Javid’s works began to be published in the 70s of the last century and 2 volumes were published in Russian. National leader Heydar Aliyev took a step that required great courage, Javid’s funeral was brought from Far Siberia to Baku in 1982 and to Nakhchivan on November 2. This fact is the only courageous example of the state-level attitude towards the repressed person in the former Soviet Union.
Today, 135 years have passed since the birth of poet-playwright Husein Javid, one of the prominent representatives of Azerbaijani classical literature. Every year, October 24, is celebrated as “Husein Javid Poetry Day” in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on the basis of the “Action Plan for the holding the 125th anniversary of Husein Javid in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic”, approved by the Order of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated May 15, 2007.
Husein Javid received his first education in a religious school in Nakhchivan, studied Arabic-Persian languages, gained preliminary knowledge about Oriental literature. Later, Husein Javid who continued his education at “Tarbiya” school established by the initiative of M.T.Sidgi, studied secular sciences and began to write his first poems by pseudonym “Gulchin”. After graduating from the Istanbul University (1906-1909), which was an important stage in the development of his outlook, he began teaching in Nakhchivan in 1909-1910. Huseyn Javid, who went to Tbilisi in 1911, lived here until 1917 and continued his literary-pedagogical activity. In 1918-1919, he taught at the “Rushdiyya” school in Nakhchivan.
Husein Javid wrote in his own heart what he wrote throughout his creative career. The writer said that if there is anything that I am fond of, it is true and again true. The general analysis of the poet’s creative way, the artistic perfection and the moral richness of his images, indicate that this literary confession is absolutely true. Source of inspiration of the writer who had extremely complicated life and creativity was the love of truth. The poet who sought the truth, hesitated to find the truth never tried to leave his own ideal - the truth, by the means of all the incidents in his works and romantic images throughout his creative career he conveyed it to people and showed the difficult ways of truth. The great writer, who devoted his whole life to this great act, had only one desire: to see his native people free and happy, to serve his homeland. Natioanal leader Heydar Aliyev, describing Huseyn Javid’s creative work said: “All the creativity and activity of Husein Javid consisted of raising the culture of the Azerbaijani people, making our people free and independent. All his creativity urged the Azerbaijani people to national liberty and independence. He always lived by his own will, committed to his will and nation, was a human being who loved his nation and people and served the nation extensively”.
