In our Autonomous Republic, spending the leisure time of both old citizens and pensioners meaningfully and efficiently is one of the focus areas. Cultural service to people from this category of the population creates opportunities for them to spend their leisure time meaningfully and these people are satisfied with this. Retirement Club No.2 of Culture and Tourism Department of Nakhchivan City is one of the favorite places of pensioners and old people of the city.
On December 1, a concert of "Buta" mugham ensemble of Nakhchivan Music College was held at the Retirement Club No.2. Before the concert, Mirvasif Seyidov, the director of the club, spoke about the care given to the pensioners and old people in the autonomous republic. It was noted that different events are held in our Autonomous Republic for spending the leisure time of pensioners efficiently. At this new club, various competitions on table-games, book discussions and concerts are held. Fortunately, these cultural events are welcomed by people from this category.

On December 1, the Children's Music School of Givrag settlement, Kangarli Region, conducted a methodical course on solfeggio, music literature and choirs for teachers of children's music schools subordinated to the Culture and Tourism Department of Kangarli region. Leyla Alimardanova, a leading advisor at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, stated that the main purpose of teaching music literature in children’s music schools is to enrich the pupils' outlook. The acquaintance of the students with general and Azerbaijani music literature plays an important role in the formation and comprehensive development of musical education in them. The main purpose of the methodical courses is to raise the level of teachers' knowledge and to direct those who teach this subject. Teachers have also been given detailed information about the solfeggio.
Then, Nuray Huseynova, teacher of Children's Music School No. 3 named after S.Rajabov, conducted a methodical lesson on “Teaching of solfeggio in the five and seven year’s education system”. She noted that during the teaching process of solfeggio in music schools, the students should be able to set up the order of Azerbaijani modes, to form the capability of hearing the Azerbaijani modes along with the major-minor system and folk musical samples should be cited in various intonation goals.
Ruhiyya Dunyamaliyeva, teacher of Nakhchivan Music College, conducted a lesson on "Teaching of music literature in the five and seven year’s education system". She noted that in music schools, besides general music literature, Azerbaijani music literature is also taught to pupils. Students get acquainted with a wide range of music literature; acquire knowledge about different genres and features, folk and professional musical forms, and musical means of expression, musical instruments, symphonic orchestras and ensemble structures.
Ordubad region is distinguished for its ancient history and unique nature in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Thanks to construction and renovation work, this place changes its appearance, become more beautiful day by day, and lives a new era of construction. A solo concert by Sakina Guliyeva, a 3rd year student at the Nakhchivan Music College's piano specialty, was held at the “Ganclik (Youth)” Center in Nakhchivan.

Nakhchivan Music College, created to educate skilled musicians in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, to attract talented young people to music education, to keep alive our national musical instruments and folk songs, as well as to study the works of classical and modern world composers, is still contributing to the training of young musicians. Sakina Guliyeva is also a talented student. Sakina Guliyeva, awarded the grant for talented youth by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, skillfully performs the works of Azerbaijani, European and Russian composers. The talented student learns the national and European music well and delivers the idea of these works to the listeners ably.
