On March 13, the Nakhchivan State Puppet Theater named after M.T.Sidgi presented the play "The Little Red Riding Hood" at Babak Region Culture House for children and schoolchildren.
People's Artist Shirzad Abutalibov, the director of the theater, spoke briefly to the audience about the activity of the Nakhchivan State Puppet Theater. It was noted that the theater plays an important role in upbringing of children in the spirit of national and spiritual values, in the formation of aesthetic pleasure in them. The theater, which was established in 1989, has also been on tours abroad and has been participating in theater festivals and has gained the audience's love.
There are numerous films, cartoons and performances about the famous "The Little Red Riding Hood" tale. Well-known Russian playwright Evgeny Schwartz is the author of the performance which is based on the world-famous tale by French writer and poet Charles Perrault. Scenes on the spectacle are based on the adventures of the girl in a red hood. The main characters of the play are the girl in a red hood, her grandmother and Wolf.

The history of Nakhchivan dates back to 5.000 years ago, making this famous city one of the oldest cultural centers in the Middle East. It is the capital of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic which covers 5,5 thousand square kilometers, has a population of about 450,000 people, and is bordered by the Republic of Turkey, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia.
Nakhchivan’s autonomous history was reflected in two important international documents signed in 1921 – in the Moscow and Kars treaties. Article 3 of the Moscow Treaty and Article 5 of the Kars Agreement stipulate the bases of autonomy, as well as the territory of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. According to these documents, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, established in 1924, is an integral part of Azerbaijan.
On March 13, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Children's Library named after Adil Babayev held a festive celebration titled "Spring arrives our land" with the school children.
The festival started under the sounds of the samani song in the yard of the library around the Novruz bonfire. Director of the library Kamal Akhundov greeted the participants of the event and congratulated them on the occasion of the holiday and invited the announcers of the celebration. After the songs and poems of the school children, the cheerful dance of the kindergarten children added a joyful mood to the celebration.
Then kosa and kechal (bald), the characters of Novruz came, their funny jokes and holiday hakhishtas with the children made a good impression on the children.
On March 10, an event was held on the occasion of National Theatre Day at Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theatre named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh.
Speaking at the event, the minister of culture and tourism of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Natavan Gadimova mentioned that today Azerbaijan national theatre is celebrated the 145th anniversary which has passed an ancient and rich historical development way. The minister congratulated the participants of the event and theatre workers on the occasion of this day.
It was emphasized that there is a great care for the activity of theatres in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. In recent years consistent measures have been carried out to strengthen the material-technical base of the theatres, theatre buildings have been reconstructed or repaired and put into operation in the autonomous republic. Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theatre named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, Nakhchivan State Puppet Theatre named after M.T. Sidgi, Nakhchivan State Children’s Theatre, 5 folk theatres, the Student Theatre Studio of Nakhchivan State University operating in the autonomous republic play a significant role to form the spiritual and aesthetic taste of the audience, to provide effective leisure time.
The concert of Nakhchivan Music College "Mugham uchluyu" (Mugham trio) and "Sazchalanlar" (Saz players) ensembles was held in Garmachatag village of Babak region on March 9.
It should be noted that the college has achieved success in preserving of national musical instruments and folk songs, as well as studying classical and modern world composers and training young musicians. The graduates of this college serve our music culture while working at cultural institutions, children's music schools in our country. In addition to its activities as an educational institution, it also performs concert programs at popular events and festivals held throughout the country. Over 40 years, various music collectives have been created at the college. Young talents, as well as promoting our music art, also take active part in competitions. Involving new talents to the collective and focusing on the various repertoire are the key issues. At present, the collectives are preparing a new repertoire for upcoming Novruz celebrations. Music collectives of the college actively participate in festivities held in the autonomous republic.
At the concert, "Pashakochdu - Azerbaijan", "Gozallama", "Godakdonu", "Nakhchivangulu", "Jalili", "Daghlar", "Gamarim", "Bash mukhammas" and "Gamarjan" ashig melodies by saz players were acclaimed.
